Ballard Power Systems Europe (Denmark) Ballard Power Systems Europe (Denmark)
Ballard Power Systems Europe is a fuel cell integrator company located in Denmark owned by Ballard Power System Inc, Canada, who is a leader in research, development, manufacturing, sales and servicing of PEM fuel cells. The company, in collaboration with its principle Ballard Power Systems, has the capability to supply fully integrated fuel cell modules with power ranging from 300 W to 1 MW. In 2010, the company’s first large scale fuel cell system was installed at FirstEnergy Generation Corp. The Ohio based utility employs the 1MW unit during times of high electricity demand. The technology incorporated in the fuel cell stack and balance of plant has been well proven in multiple applications. The new fuel cell stack platform for large scale distributed power generation, the FCgen™-1300, commenced development in mid-2008.

ICMCB ICMCB
The Institute for Solid State Chemistry of Bordeaux (Institut de Chimie de la Matière Condensée de Bordeaux, ICMCB) was founded in 1995. It is part of the CNRS, but is associated with the University of Bordeaux, and also maintains close links with the local engineering school Polytechnical Institute of Bordeaux (Bordeaux INP) and the technical college "Institut Universitaire de Technologie" (IUT de Bordeaux). The laboratory is located within the Bordeaux University Campus. ICMCB is involved in academic researches in the field of advanced materials. Three of the seven groups currently work in the field of materials for energy. The group Energy dedicated to Fuel Cell and hydrogen storage” will participate to this project. ICMCB has more than 20 years’ experience in the field of electroceramics, which can be relevant materials as SOFC cathode. New materials have been proposed and patented during the last years. Thanks to the creation of a fuel cells test platform in 2007, ICMCB has a good experience in shaping electrodes, electrochemical experiments as well as fuel cell tests.
Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (FCH JU) Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (FCH JU)
The Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (FCH JU) is a unique public private partnership supporting research, technological development and demonstration (RTD) activities in fuel cell and hydrogen energy technologies in Europe. Its aim is to accelerate the market introduction of these technologies, realising their potential as an instrument in achieving a carbon-clean energy system.
